A beautiful night in Coal Country as the United Racing Club made its one and only trip to Schuylkill County in 2025. After it was all said and done. It was the same as it has been all season long. Another race, a different winner. Three time and defending URC Champion Mertztown’s Josh Weller made what should have been a lackluster night exciting as Weller took his first win of 2025 with the United Racing Club.
A disappointing 10 cars signed in for action on Friday night for action. With Harding,PA’s Jordan Thomas and Woodbine,NJ’s Buddy Schwebiniz would bring the field to the green. Thomas would get to the early lead and Weller would be right on Schwebiniz tail tank after making quick work of Bernville’s Hayden Miller. Caution would fly as the second lap would be complete as Brandon MCGough, Jay Galloway and Devin Gundrum would come together. Randy Wilbert would also slow and come to a stop. He would be done for the night.
Restart would come with Jordan Thomas taking the lead again and Weller would get around Schweibiniz on the restart and start to chase down Thomas. Thomas would get too high in turn 2 and Weller would pounce and take the lead as Thomas was all over the palace losing all sorts of momentum. Schweibiniz would continue his great run of late getting around Thomas for the second spot and closing in on Weller with ten laps remaining. It would be a two dog fight until Scott Wilson would explode a right rear bringing out the caution with four laps remaining
Restart would come with 4 laps to go. He would get away from Schweibiniz. But Schweibiniz wasn’t letting him get too far away. But clean air was too dominant for the 30th URC feature win of his career and his 5th at Big Diamond. Schwibiniz,Thomas, Miller and Pine Grove,PA Seth Schnoke rounded out the top 5.
“Happy birthday to my Mom Kim and thank god I don’t have to go shopping for a present now.” Weller said in Victory Lane.” When Thomas rolled the top opened it up for us. I was getting tired of being a bridesmaid, I think we put on a hell of a show for the fans.”

The United Racing Club is now off until September 19th and 20th. September 19th is the Return of the 360 National Open at the Selinsgrove Speedway. Then Saturday our final trip to New Jersey as Bridgeport host URC for the third and final time in 2025.
