Stillwaggon Has Them Covered at the Kramer Cup

Stillwaggon Has Them Covered at the Kramer Cup

Robbie Stillwaggon had a perfect night on Saturday night at the 2nd Annual Kramer Cup. Stillwaggon who drew the #2 pill was able to benefit from a 7pm rain shower and the dismissal of Time Trials started on the pole in the 2nd heat race of the night. Stillwaggon piloting the #89 Quality Auto Body used the pole to his advantage jumping out front in the heat race and running away with the heat win over Mark Smith in his brand new Mach 1 Chassis 360 Sprint Car.

Benefiting from Heat race #1 winner Curt Michael drawing the "0" pill for the invert Stillwaggon and Michael made up the front row of the Kramer Cup Feature race. On the initial start Stillwaggon took a commanding lead over Michael and was already catching lapped traffic by lap 4. A lap 8 caution bunched up the field with Stillwaggon leading followed by TJ Stutts, Mark Smith, Curt Michael and Derek Locke who was having an impressive run. On the restart Stillwaggon easily pulled away from the 23 of TJ Stutts and was leading when the read flag was shown for a incident involving Jason Clauss. As Clauss exited off of turn 4, his axle snapped at the left rear causing Clauss to do a series of spins before finally coming to rest on his side.

Another caution for a slowing Coby Wormer gave Stutts his last shot at taking a run at Stillwaggon. Once again Stillwaggon showed that Stutts was not match for the potent #89 sprint car easily pulling out to a 4-5 car lead. In the closing laps, the Mach 1 chassis of Mark Smith was able to get by Stutts but wasn't able to catch Stillwaggon. At the checkers Stillwaggon had a commanding 3 second lead. Mark Smith was 2nd, followed by TJ Stutts, Aaron Ott, and Davie Franek rounding out the top 5.

Four heat races were needed for the 33 sprint cars that entered the pits. Heat races were won by Curt Michael, Robbie Stillwaggon, Derek Locke, and TJ Stutts. Jim Shuster won the B-Main.

URC will be back in action on Friday August 14 at the Williams Grove Speedway.

Results, 1. Stillwaggon, 2. Smith, 3. Stutts, 4. Ott, 5. Franek, 6. Schultz, 7. Locke, 8. Michael, 9. Kissinger, 10. Tomecek,
