Weller Wins It!!

Weller Wins It!!

Weller Wins It!

Josh Weller and the rest of the United Racing Club headed to Susquehanna Speedway for the first time in 2016. Fresh off of a top 5 finish the night before at the Williams Grove Speedway where Weller advanced 13 positions in the feature event from the 18th starting position, Weller posted "Now if I can just draw well." Tonight Weller drew well and started 3rd in heat #3 and brought home the heat race win. Other heat race wins went to Robbie Stillwaggon aboard the Quality Auto Body #89 and Jordan Givler aboard the WTBD #90. The B-Main was won by Eric Tomecek.

After the "6" invert pill was drawn by heat race #1 winner, Jordan Givler, the front row was comprised for 2 of the URC heavy hitters, the Franek Auto Sales #28f driven by current URC points leader Davie "No Panic" Franek and the #55 Mach 1 Chassis driven by Mark Smith. Franek who was fresh off of his win the night before at the Williams Grove Speedway took the lead from Smith on the initial start. A lap 4 red flag was shown for an engine fire aboard the #47 of Adam Carberry. A lap 5 restart saw Franek jump into position p1 again followed by Smith, and the 63 of Weller.

Smith was the next to bring out the caution which saw the 55 come to a stop in turns 1-2. With Smith now out of the picture, the top 5 was now made up of Franek, Weller, Stillwaggon, Locke and the 66h of Doug Hammaker from the 13th starting position. On the double file restart Franek took over the lead once again, but the caution was quickly thrown for Jimmy Stitzel who had blown a right rear coming down the front stretch. After the single file restart Weller went to the outside of Franek going into 1, Franek tried to squeeze Weller but Weller didn't back off and the both of them entered side by side into turn 1, coming off of turn 2, Weller jumped to the lead and was now shown the leader. Weller went on the lead the remaining laps and brought home the Victory Auto Glass, Schearer's VW & Audi Specialists #63 his 2nd win of the 2016 season.

The Untied Racing Club will now head to Bridgeport Speedway on Tuesday night for the annual 3 For All Event. Pit Gates Open at 3:30, Grandstands Open at 5pm, Hot Laps at 6:15pm and Heat Races start at 7:15pm.

The official run down was not available at the time of this publication, the official results will be posted once they become available.
